Playa Blanca condo #2 is a ground floor condo located in North Akumal overlooking Half Moon Bay, it offers excellent snorkeling and beach combing. Akumal is an hour and a half drive north to the international airport in Cancun.
From Playa Blanca it's a short walk north to the calm, clear water of Yal Ku Lagoon. National Geographic ran an article about this idyllic spot a few years ago. The Caribbean water enters the lagoon from the east and fresh cenote water enters form the west. The convergence of saltwater and freshwater attracts a huge variety of colorful fish.
A short walk to the south is Akumal centro and Akumal Bay. There you will find shopping, entertainment, a drug store, convenience store, and a grocery store. The "General Store" grocery in Akumal centro stocks most anything you could need. You're never very far away this tropical paradise.
Across the road from Playa Blanca is a small “mini super” convenience store for when you need more ice or to restock your chips.
Part of a private and small Playa Blanca is a residential building with only 8 units, The decor is modern chic with off white and sand color hues, and wood grain tile flooring. Exquisitely beautiful woodwork furniture accents the tropical decor. The fully equipped kitchen features modern appliances to prep delicious meals, not to mention tropical drinks. There’s also a dining table for 4 plus a high top table for 3. The kitchen has a four burner stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, and an array of utensils and cookware. A curved breakfast peninsula seats four (4) making informal breakfasts a delight.
The living space has a large L-shaped built in couch for lounging, a smart TV, and a convenient workspace.
The open-concept layout of the living spaces, tasteful décor with sliding doors to the patio which opens onto the beach, creates an atmosphere of a calm home in sync with nature.
The sliding glass doors and windows give a spectacular view to the Caribbean from the kitchen, dining, living areas, and even the master bedroom. These sliding doors lead to a terrace with a table for outdoor dining and patio style furniture to take in the view. A weber style grill is ready to go on the beachside patio.
In the living room a comfortable built-in L shaped couch faces the ocean terrace, a great place to be, day or night.
The master bedroom has a full bathroom with a king bed, and wall-to-wall folding shutters for privacy. When open, there is a fabulous view of the Caribbean Sea. The second bedroom sleeps up to three with a queen bed and a small single, and its own ensuite bathroom. It has AC in both bedrooms. There is a spectacular ocean view from the Master Bathroom through the Master Bedroom, and past the Living/Dining Room through the kitchen and out to the terrace.
The prevailing easterly winds combined with the ceiling fan in the living room, bring the fresh sea breeze throughout the condo. There are shaded palapas on the beach to share among all condominium guests.
Enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the blue Caribbean Sea and watch from your seashore patio as turtles pop their heads up for a breath and stingrays glide by in Half Moon Bay. Or better yet, grab your mask and snorkel and join them!!! Snorkeling and diving are steps away.
